GoFundMe to help local veteran

Former Inweekly writer Josh Encinias has created a GoFundMe account for an emergency medical fund for his father.

“My dad is set to have a cervical fusion to prevent paralysis from the neck down on Nov. 28,” wrote Josh. “His name is Master Sergeant Steven Encinias, retired E8 from the Army Reserves, who served in the United States Army for decades. He was also a civil service member at the Pensacola Navy Base – along with serving the community in his 1990s as the youth ministry at East Hill Baptist Church.”

The funds will used to help his parents with current and future medical expenses, home maintenance and cleaning, and travel expenses for medical care.
