GOP Florida House throws tantrum

It took 43 minutes for the Florida House to thumb its nose at Gov. Charlie Crist and adjourn the special session on offshore drilling without any action. Crist had called state legislature into session in a bid to put a constitutional amendment banning drilling on the November ballot. The lawmakers, with Crist’s support, had nearly passed a law allowing the drilling last April. However, the Deepwater Horizon explosion changed all that.

Lawmakers backed off. Crist switched to running of the U.S. Senate as an independent. And public polls show Floridians are now against the drilling.

Too much politics….Time will tell if the fallout from the aborted session will help or hurt Crist’s campaign. I suspect the GOP lawmakers have helped him.
