Florida Department of Education has released its report on the graduation and drop out rates for 2005-06. Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa are better than the state averages:
Graduation 71.0%Â Drop Out 3.5%
Under Superintendent Jim Paul – Esc. County graduation rates have improved almost 10% – from 65.2% in 2000-01 to 74.8% in 05-06. For the same period: Santa Rosa – 75.4% to 85.5%; Okaloosa – 76.8% to 86.0%.
However, drop out rates also increased for Escambia and Santa Rosa counties from 2000-01 to 2005-06
Esc: 2.4% to 3.1% Â Santa Rosa: 2.2% to 2.3%
Only Okaloosa County had a decrease from 3.7% to 2.2%
