State Attorney Bill Eddins announced today that an Escambia County Grand Jury indicted Alonzo Dewayne Thompkins, Jr. for First Degree Felony Murder in the death of a two year old child, C.S.
On Aug. 8, the two year old child was found unresponsive by his mother after being home alone with the defendant for approximately one hour. The Medical Examiner’s Office determined the death of the child to be caused by blunt force trauma to the child’s torso.
Alonzo Dewayne Thompkins, Jr. is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 1.
