Grand jury investigates Evers on billboards


The SaintPetersBlog just broke the story. A grand jury in Leon County was convened yesterday to investigate an environmental group’s claims that State Senator Greg Evers used the influence of his former position as House Transportation Committee chairman to help a billboard company get around state regulations.

According to Deputy State Attorney Georgia Cappleman, the grand jury’s larger focus is the possible loss of revenue to the state by the waiving of tree-cutting permit requirements for Bill Salter Advertising.
