Escambia County Commission Chair Grover Robinson has sent a letter to Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward urging him to “accept the proposal currently approved by the Escambia BCC.”
“While I do have some reservations with the position we were finally able to pass, the proposal provides the City with the total 15.62 percent it needs for its resurfacing program,” wrote Robinson. “Perhaps more importantly, the proposal shows our joint constituencies that we can come to some agreement on our own without lawsuits and appeals.”
According to Robinson, the Board of County Commissioners don’t have to do anything more.
“The City would simply need to unilaterally accept for us to move forward,” he wrote Hayward.
