grover robinsonEscambia County Commissioner Grover Robinson is the recipient of a 2013 Florida Association of Counties Presidential Advocacy Award. The award is given annually to county officials throughout the state who have partnered with FAC to advance their county’s legislative agenda.

“I am proud to be part of an organization like FAC that has the Florida citizen’s best interest in mind,” said Robinson, in a county statement.  “It is a great honor to be recognized for making a positive impact in Escambia County and I look forward to collaborating with other county commissioners to do the best work for the people.”

Robinson received the award during the annual FAC conference last week in Hillsborough County. He was specifically recognized for his efforts educating state lawmakers about state-county cost share issues pertaining to Medicaid.

“It is public servants like Commissioner Robinson that ensure our local communities have the authority to respond to the demands of their citizens,” noted FAC Executive Director Chris Holley. “Commissioner Robinson’s support in our efforts to create an equitable and fair solution to Medicaid cost share was essential in getting rid of the cumbersome and erroneous billing system that has been in place for years.”
