Gun violence moves inside city limits

Pensacola police are investigating an overnight shooting on Le Jeune Drive that left bullets lodged in a nearby home. Two male suspects forced their way inside a home in the 7600 block of Le Jeune Drive around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday night and began shooting, according to a Pensacola Police Department release.

The shooting continued outside the home in the front yard, and a single bullet struck a nearby house and lodged in a bathroom wall.The homeowner was inside the bathroom at the time but wasn’t injured. The motive for the shooting is under investigation, and police have suspects, according to the release.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 433-STOP or PPD at 435-1900.

  1. The District 1 homes affected by this crime are in the Eau Claire neighborhood north of I-10 east of 9th Avenue.
