UWF Student Government Association to host Hard Hats for Higher Education Rally in support of legislative campaign
WHAT: The University of West Florida Student Government Association will host a Hard Hats for Higher Education Rally on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 12 p.m. in the UWF Commons to support the system-wide legislative Hard Hats for Higher Education Campaign, which includes a push for the much-needed $321 million for Florida university facilities construction, known as the 3-2-1 Plan. UWF is asking for an $11 million investment to upgrade the buildings for the UWF Laboratory Sciences Department. Students across the entire Florida State University System are helping to spearhead the initiative by working hand-in-hand with higher education and business leaders to organize grassroots campaigns at universities. SGA organizations across the state are hosting individual campus rallies on Feb. 26, encouraging students to call and write their legislators.
