Haridopolos stalls Senate ethics bill

Last year Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos co-sponsored a bill that would have cracked down on legislative voting conflicts of interest. This year, he had the bill pulled from the agenda of the agenda for the Government Oversight and Operations Committee.

Senate Bill 86 prohibits a member of the Legislature from participating in any legislation inuring to the personal gain or loss of a business associate, employer, board on which the member sits, principal by whom the member is retained, or parent corporation or its subsidiaries. The bill is very complicated (text).

The Miami Herald asks why did Haridopolos pull the bill.
