Hawkshaw completes first day

We had 1,002 paid customers and about 3,200 active duty military throughout the day.

No bad incidents. The crowds heard great music all day long.

Highlights: 60 Cycles of Sound, Ligion and Coffey Anderson.

Ligion spent an hour signing autographs in Q100 tent for Marines and others. Their hardcore alt-rock look was belied by their sincere desire to thank the troops for their service. They hung around an listened to all the other acts – including Julie Roberts.

Coffey Anderson strummed thru the crowd drawing people to his stage. The 60 Cycles of Sound guys had another of their killer live shows.

Each band said they loved playing in Penascola and would come back to play again.

Today: Locals start us off – Miles from Coltrane, Kevin Larson Band at around 1 pm.

Funk/Folk/Jazzy: Acoustifunk, Lyndsey Battle, Col Bruce Hampton

Key West sound: Gary Hempsey

Upcoming local band (on the Fish Pie Record): Reynosa

Southern Rock: Chris McCarty Band, Zac Brown Band, Dash Rip Rock, Cowboy Mouth.
