The Airport Food Concessions and North Hill/DCC controversies had no impact on Mayor Ashton Hayward’s ability to raise funds for his 2014 re-election campaign. Hayward raised $12,050 in March, bringing his monetary total to $92,175.
The March figure is the third best fundraising month for the incumbent. He opened his campaign with $32,000 in the first quarter – $28,500 in September 2013 alone. His other big month was December 2013 – $18,325.
Hayward’s two opponents, Donna Clark and Charles Bare, have raised $15,782 and $2,250 respectively. In other city of Pensacola races, only Councilman Brian Spencer is anywhere close to the mayor’s fundraising efforts. Spencer has collected $26,124.81. His opponent, Mark Taylor, has received $2,650.
