Helping those displaced by flooding

Hundreds have been displaced due to flooding. Community Health Northwest Florida is collecting items to help those living in shelters.

What this matters: Forest Creek Apartment residents are living at the Marie Young Community Center. Multiple encampments across the area were destroyed and the Alfred Washburn Center and the REAP Maxwell Center were flooded.

Unhoused Care Navigators from Community Health Northwest Florida reached out to the REAP Maxwell Center, Alfred Washburn Center, and displaced unhoused persons to provide emergency supplies in the form of diapers, baby wipes, hygiene items, blankets, tarps, and tents.

While the immediate need is met, Community Health – as well as service providers – have exhausted their on-hand supplies. After consulting with the aforementioned service providers and those unhoused, we are asking for some specific supplies to meet the continued need.

Items Needed:
Baby Wipes
Diapers of all sizes
Baby Food ( no formula )
Tents
Tarps
Sleeping Bags
Coloring books, crayons, and board games ( for the displaced children from the shelter )

Supplies can be dropped off at Community Health Northwest Florida Behavioral Health and Wellness Cottage, 1380 North Palafox  –  behind the main building from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.
