OurSportsCentral.com reports: “Jim Combs, Commissioner of the Southern Professional Hockey League’s Commissioner announced tonight that the Southern Professional Hockey League’s Board of Governors has authorized him and select members of the Board to enter into discussions with potential investors, key government officials, local fans and business leaders in Pensacola, Florida relative to award of a franchise for the 2009-10 SPHL season. Combs confirmed that SPHL representatives will be in Pensacola next week for a series of scheduled discussions. ”
