Florida Politics broke the news earlier today that Erik Dellenback, Executive Director of Hope Florida, has resigned from his position effective May 1, just months after joining the charity in January. His departure comes amid increasing legislative scrutiny of the organization closely associated with Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis.
- “This resignation came after a very prayerful time with my family,” Dellenback stated in his resignation letter, which became public one day after he testified before a House panel investigating the charity.
Rep. Alex Andrade, who leads the probe, praised Dellenback on social media:
“The decision by Erik Dellenback shows his character and integrity. Unlike James Uthmeier, Mr. Dellenback wasn’t implicated in any wrongdoing.”
The investigation centers on transparency concerns and questionable financial transfers, including $5 million given to a political committee formerly controlled by Ron DeSantis’ ex-Chief of Staff Uthmeier, which helped defeat last year’s marijuana initiative.
DeSantis Communications Director Bryan Griffin indicated Dellenback is leaving to become CEO of Florida Family Voice while maintaining an advisory role with Hope Florida.
Background: Florida Family Voice is a nonprofit organization based in Orlando, Florida, dedicated to strengthening Florida’s families through public policy education, issues research, and grassroots advocacy. Its mission is to shape the moral and social policies of the state government by promoting pro-life work, defending religious liberty, advocating for marriage, and supporting pro-family laws.

He served as the Governor’s Liaison for Faith and Community for nearly six years. Before that, Dellenback was the founding President and Executive Director of the Tim Tebow Foundation (TTF) for seven years, where he launched the Night to Shine prom for individuals with special needs.

In addition to his nonprofit leadership, Dellenback has a background as a movie producer and entrepreneur, with credits including the film “Run the Race” (2017).
