Distinguished Military Veteran to Lead New Initiative
Hoskins brings impressive credentials to his new role. His 27-year military career includes service as an FA-18 pilot with the Blue Angels and as commanding officer for Naval Air Station Pensacola. Under his leadership, NAS Pensacola received the Commander in Chief’s Installation Excellence Award from President Barack Obama in 2015.
Before this appointment, Hoskins served as an executive at Navy Federal’s Greater Pensacola Operations campus and later led the credit union’s Branch Operations team, which includes approximately 5,500 team members across 16 countries.
- “Having served with dedication in the United States Navy and led teams with a purpose in Branch Operations, I now take the challenge of leading the Military Affairs and Strategic Partnerships business unit,” said Hoskins. “Our mission remains the same: to bring an unwavering commitment and a collaborative strategy to ensure we exceed the expectations of our members and the communities we serve.”
A Unified Approach to Military Support
The new business unit represents a strategic consolidation of Navy Federal’s various community engagement and member support initiatives. By bringing these efforts under one framework, the credit union aims to provide more meaningful, lifelong support to service members and their families.
“Navy Federal is dedicated to the financial well-being of our 14 million members across the globe,” said President and CEO Dietrich Kuhlmann. “We also have a duty to serve America’s broader military community. As we seek to expand our impact in this area, our new Military Affairs and Strategic Partnerships team will allow us to enhance our programs and better leverage relationships with partners who share our values.”
Key Focus Areas
The Military Affairs and Strategic Partnerships unit will concentrate on three primary areas:
The Office of Financial Opportunity: This initiative will enhance current Navy Federal programs designed to help members achieve their financial and homeownership goals. By focusing specifically on the unique financial needs of military members and their families, the credit union aims to provide targeted support for long-term financial success.
Strategic Partnerships and Community Impact: Navy Federal will amplify its influence on military, veteran, and member communities and thereby maximize the effectiveness of its community involvement efforts.
Government Relations and Public Policy: This area will focus on advocacy and initiatives to ensure Navy Federal is positioned to serve the needs of military members and their families through appropriate policies and programs.
Leadership Transition
As Hoskins moves into his new role, Tracy Montgomery, Senior Vice President, will serve as the acting lead for Branch Operations while the search for a full-time replacement is conducted.
