Hoskins to join Gulf Power

Gulf Power announced today that Capt. Keith Hoskins, former commanding officer at Naval Air Station Pensacola, will join the Gulf Power team June 1.

Hoskins will serve as the Major Accounts and Military Affairs manager leading a team of energy experts who serve the company’s largest customers. Hoskins is replacing Ellis Oswald who is retiring.

“As we continually seek to improve our customers’ experiences, Keith’s many years of leadership and insight will be vital,” said Bentina Terry, vice president of Customer Service & Sales. “His efforts to improve the energy efficiency of Naval Air Station Pensacola has given him a great understanding of our largest customers’ needs.”

As Major Accounts and Military Affairs manager, Hoskins’ team will be responsible for managing Gulf Power’s biggest customer accounts, with Eglin Air Force Base being the largest. Hoskins also will be responsible for Military Affairs and work with local and state leaders on the retention and expansion of the military presence in Northwest Florida.

“I hope to be able to contribute to the already excellent relationship the Gulf Power team has with its customers across Northwest Florida,” Hoskins said. “I look forward to working with local and state leaders and our military partners as well as being able to continue to give back to the communities we serve.”

Hoskins completed his three-year command of NAS Pensacola on March 24 after serving in the U.S. Navy for 27 years. While serving as base commander, President Obama awarded him the prestigious Commander in Chief’s Installation Excellence Award in 2015, one of the highest honors recognizing the outstanding and innovative efforts of the people who operate and maintain U.S. military installations.

Other highlights of his Navy career include being a 1999-2001 Blue Angels flight demonstration pilot, and serving as commanding officer of Strike Force Squadron 15 and as national director of NROTC at Navy Service Training Command.

Hoskins graduated from Missouri Western State University in 1988 with an Electrical Engineering Technology degree, and earned a master’s degree in National Resource Strategy and Policy from the Industrial College of Armed Forces in 2012.
