First City Art Center (FCAC) will hold its HOT GLASS, COLD BREW (HGCB) Spring Fling event on Fri., March 21, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 1060 N. Guillemard St. (the corner of Guillemard and Gonzalez Streets).
This is a fundraiser that directly supports First City Art Center and its programs. There is a suggested donation of $25 for non-members and $20 for members. Guests can choose to bring a cup from a previous HGCB and get $5 off. For those who sign up for a new FCAC membership on that evening, your entry will be free! While supplies last, guests will receive a hand-blown glass or hand-thrown pottery cup.
These collector glasses and cups are limited and go fast so come early – doors open at 5 p.m., no sooner! Patrons will also enjoy brew courtesy of Pensacola Bay Brewery and Escambia Bay Homebrewers; alcoholic* and non-alcoholic beverages, live music by ‘Continuum’ and raffles. As a special treat, Dan Dunn, Executive Chef at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front, will prepare special, complimentary pork tacos. There will be live glass and pottery demos.
Take part once again in Pensacola’s first ‘Before I Die’ project. This is “an interactive public art project that invites people to share their personal aspirations in a public spaceâ€. There are over 400 ‘Before I Die’ walls in over 60 countries, in over 25 languages.
In addition, our pottery and glass guilds will have their annual Spring Fling Art Sale in the FCAC classroom building and our innovative studio artists will present a new show, “Inspirationâ€, in the Gallery at First City Art Center.
Bring the whole family! There will be children’s activities taking place al fresco, under a tent. Small art workshops for ages 4-11 will be taught by FCAC and the Gulf Coast Kid’s House. The workshop takes place during the HGCB event and each child will create a fun project to take home! Children will be supervised while parents enjoy the event. FCAC will also be collecting baby items, such as diapers and wipes, for the Gulf Coast Kid’s House.
Sponsored by Pensacola Bay Brewery, Escambia Bay Homebrewers and Integrated Surroundings. For more information, 429-1222 or visit www.FirstCityArt.org.
