St. Johns County School District is an A school district, number one in the state of Florida. St. Johns earned 208 points more than Escambia County School District this past school year. Its school board selects its school superintendent.
The St. Augustine Record published an article today on how the current selection process is being done. Twenty-one applications were received. An advisory committee of 30 select officials, parents, teachers and leaders reviewed the application narrowed the list down to those that best meet the school district’s needs. The nine semifinalists were presented to the school board. A consultant for the Florida School Boards Association Superintendent Search Services to perform background checks on the semifinalists. The school board will then review the list and determine which ones it wishes to interview.
