How can district deal with Escambia High School emergency

Superintendent Malcolm Thomas has declared an emergency at Escambia High after a recent fire revealed the school had asbestos in the building. The school district has several options: Hallmark, Allie Yniestra and Spencer-Bibbs are vacant and can be used.

We would recommended Brownsville Middle because it’s the most convenient, but the school district has let it fall into such disrepair that it’s inhabitable. The A/C units have been stripped of copper, the water lines to the building still may have leaks and an entire wing has burned down.

The EHS begs the question what other schools have asbestos issues. Has the district done any survey of its buildings?
