Humane Society PAC endorses Gaetz

From Matt Gaetz Campaign:

The Humane Society Legislative Fund (HSLF) yesterday endorsed Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-01) in his re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives. The Humane Society, founded in 2004, seeks to educate citizens regarding animal protection issues, in addition to backing humane candidates running for office. HSLF advocates for animal protection in the halls of Congress, as well as in state legislatures.

In his first term in Congress, Rep. Gaetz co-sponsored both the PUPPERS Act, which would prevent the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) from harming dogs for experimental purposes and the Federal Accountability in Chemical Testing (FACT) Act, which would curb wasteful spending on animal testing. Additionally, Rep. Gaetz co-sponsored the Human Cosmetics Act, which would terminate all cosmetic testing on animals.

“Matt Gaetz is a trailblazer for animals in the U.S. Congress. Congressman Gaetz is fighting to prevent taxpayer dollars from being used to harm animals, and western Panhandle voters should re-elect him,” said Sara Amundson, President of the HSLF.

In response to the Humane Society Legislative Fund’s endorsement, Rep. Gaetz issued the following statement:

“I am honored to accept the endorsement from the Humane Society Legislative Fund. I will always fight against wasteful government spending, especially when it harms the creatures we share the planet with. As a loving dog and cat owner myself, I consider it my duty to prevent animal cruelty wherever and whenever possible,” said Rep. Gaetz.
