Dear Sandy

I must resign from the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce board so that I
can be more effective in carrying out my economic development
responsibilities at Gulf Power Company.

My position as Director of Economic Development requires my full attention
to help lead job creation efforts for all of the communities Gulf Power
serves across Northwest Florida. Being on the Pensacola Chamber board could
make it more difficult to work effectively with other communities,
particularly on competitive projects.

This in no way diminishes Gulf Power’s support of the Pensacola Chamber.
Because of my resignation, we will offer an employee as a board replacement
for the chamber board’s consideration. In addition, Bentina Terry will
remain the company’s representative on the Vision 2015 Cabinet. And, I will
continue to work with the chamber board, staff and committees on chamber
projects and programs in my Gulf Power role.

Stepping aside from the board will allow me to fulfill these obligations
more effectively, while Gulf Power remains a strong and active supporter of
the chamber and the community.

Sincerely,

John

John L. Hutchinson
Director of Public Affairs and Economic Development Gulf Power Company
