IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay Area, a local women’s philanthropy group is pleased to announce that ten grant finalists for 2008 have been selected by five Focus Committees. $112,600 will be awarded to each of 5 recipients at the group’s annual meeting in October. $563,000 was raised in memberships in 2008.
The ten finalists, which have been selected, are:

& Preservation: ARC Gateway Project: Going Green in Every Way
Bagdad Cemetery Association Project: Preserving Yesterday and Today for Tomorrow
Family: Family Promise of Santa Rosa Project: Families in Transition
Manna Food Bank Project: Manna Needs Wheels
Health & Wellness: Appetite for Life Project: Home Delivered Meal Program Expansion: Combating Malnutrition Among the Terminally Ill
Covenant Hospice Project: Expanding the Care and Compassion
The group will, at its annual meeting on Sunday, October 26, 2008, hear from each of the finalists and the membership will vote to determine the winners for 2008. Two non-profit organizations from each Focus Committee will make a presentation at the meeting, and the group will vote on one recipient in each category. That recipient will be awarded an IMPACT 100 grant of $112,600.
The group, founded in 2004, raised $233,000 in its first year, $250,000 in 2005, $340,000 in 2006 $472,000 in 2007 and $563,000 in 2008. $1,295,000 has already been awarded to non profit organizations in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties in the past 4 years. This year’s membership drive brings total funds raised to $1,858,000.
