This week may be the most important week for local government in months. Several hot issues will be discussed. Of course, discussion and action are two very different things for Escambia County and the City of Pensacola.

The City of Pensacola’s Enterprise Committee meets today on a proposal to lease more land to Cemex/Rinker Materials. Here are

After than meeting, the Committee of the Whole will meet and hear a presentation from John Peacock on the strong mayor.

On Aug. 23, the Escambia County Commission meets. It has on the agenda ECAT, library funding, the report on county fire protection system and the stipend audit on the volunteer firefighters.
