Clay Ingram to run for Florida House of Representatives
Vows to fight for Escambia County’s future
PENSACOLA-Escambia County native Clay Ingram has filed to run for the Florida House of Representatives, District 2. Ingram cited his concerns about the future of Escambia County and northwest Florida as motivation for running for the Florida House.
“The next decade will be vital to the growth and development of Escambia County and Northwest Florida.” Ingram said. “Issues ranging from economic development to education to health care must be dealt with if we are going to grow and advance as a region.”
Clay Ingram is a Pensacola native and a graduate of Tate High School. After high school, Ingram walked-on to play football for Florida State University. He earned a scholarship and was a four year starter for Coach Bobby Bowden and leader on the 1999 National Championship team. He graduated from Florida State with a degree in General Communications and was a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Academic Honor Roll.
Since returning to Pensacola, Ingram has worked in real estate at the H.C. Ingram Group and Kenneth Payne Properties. He is currently teaching and coaching football at Tate High School.
Clay Ingram is active in the community as a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, the Cantonment Rotary Club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Clay is married to the former Leslie Cagle of Birmingham, Alabama.
State House District 2 has been represented by Representative Dave Murzin since 2002. Representative Murzin is leaving the Florida House due to term limits.
