Press release: Vote for your favorite Education-themed community project
PENSACOLA, FL – Unite Escambia has announced five finalists for the first Inspiration for Escambia grant.
The $1,000 grant is for an Environment-themed community project and is sponsored by International Paper.
The finalists are:
ï‚· Council on Aging of West Florida, Inc: Big Green, Little Green Environmental Education. The program will bring hands-on Environmental Education to ten classrooms in Escambia County.
 Warrington Middle School: Recycle Warrington. The program will start a composting program for Warrington Middle School’s seven school gardens
 Top of the Bottom Ministry: Top of the Bottom Community Green Garden. The program will start a community garden at Top of the Bottom Ministries in Pensacola’s Bellshead community.
 City of Pensacola: Youth Community Gardening. The program will build a “White House†style youth community garden within the Hollice T. Williams Urban Greenway/I-110 Garden.
The winner will be selected through a community vote. All residents are encouraged to read more about the projects and vote for their favorite at www.UniteEscambia.com. Voting will end on April 30th.
Inspiration for Escambia will continue throughout 2011, awarding a grant for a Health-themed project in June,
a Housing-themed project August, and a Poverty-themed project in October.
