International Childhood Awareness Day: ‘We Are One’

Earlier this year, Childhood Cancer International teamed up with Disney’s Frozen composer Christophe Beck to raise childhood cancer awareness. They launched the Child4Child.com campaign that brought together children from across the globe to record their voices singing the chorus to the new hit song: We Are One.

According to Child Cancer International, the creative responses have been overwhelming! More than 900,000 children and teens have not only recorded themselves singing the chorus; they have created dances, lip-syncing videos, and even covers!

In a CCI press release this morning, the group said, “And today—International Childhood Awareness Day—we finally get to hear, and see, the results of this creativity, as the official version of We Are One is released on major platforms including iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify”

CCI was founded in 1994, as an umbrella organization of childhood cancer grassroots and national parent organizations. Today, it is the largest patient support organization for childhood cancer and represents 181 parent organizations, childhood cancer survivor associations, childhood cancer support groups, and cancer societies, in 90 countries, across 5 continents.

Recognized world-wide as the body representing children/adolescents with cancer, childhood cancer survivors and their families, CCI works in partnership with international development organizations, policy makers, civil society organizations, health, research and medical professionals .

It seeks to inform and catalyze synergistic, cross-sectoral collaboration towards:
a) reducing the increasing deaths from childhood cancer,
b) creating a supportive enabling environment for childhood cancer initiatives,
c) advancing the cure for childhood cancer,
d) improving equity in access to care, and
e) transforming the quality of care.
