Internet rules on news today

Today reporting on the Internet was fast and furious. PNJ.com came to battle with articles on Touart’s land dealings – posting a full article for the first time before it appeared in print.  They also posted the letter from Clerk of Courts Ernie Lee Magaha, verbatim transcript of the commission meeting and a letter from property appraiser.

The IN with its new InDaily feature countered with full appraisal reports on the Bauer land, the Magaha letter, the payment request and a timeline of the commission votes. We also reported on the strong mayor issue – posting John Peacock’s speech. And we covered the Rinker/Cemex lease detailing the confusion after the vote, more on Cemex’s history and breaking that Rinker had withdrawn the lease proposal. Plus, we posted eight other stories on the web.

A new era is dawning locally and the pnj.com and inweekly.net did a good job today of keeping the public informed.
