Internship Pensacola

Internship Pensacola is currently seeking local business partners for our program’s Summer 2009 session. We encourage businesses from all sectors to participate in this outstanding program. The IP program is an extremely effective tool for recruiting and securing talented young employees.

Launched in 2007, Internship Pensacola is an initiative of the Pensacola Young Professionals. The IP program also receives substantial support from the University of West Florida and the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. The goal of the program is to attract and retain young talent in our area by offering full-time, paid internships that will create a pathway for graduating college students to enter our local business community. Over the last two years, IP has placed over 35 student interns with local companies, and nearly one-third of those interns were retained by their employers at the end of their internship session.

In addition to the 13-week summer internships, IP students also participate in a UWF-led Professional Development Seminar which hones their business acumen and interpersonal skills. Interns also have the opportunity to attend PYP-sponsored networking events, where they get a chance to meet and mingle with Pensacola’s business innovators and community leaders. This effective combination of on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and intensive networking allows the IP program to craft savvy, experienced young professionals who are eager and willing to renew and revitalize our community.
