INYR: Interview with T.D. Allman

Yesterday, I interviewed award-winning journalist and author T.D. Allman. He is touring Northwest Florida to promote his newest book,”Finding Florida: The True History of the Sunshine State.”

Finding Florida is a story of Florida’s transformation from swamp to paradise through discovery, exploration, and settlement. From the defeat of Spain’s conquistadors to its’ secession in 1861, Florida’s diverse history has played an essential role in twenty-first-century America. Finding Florida sheds a new light on the meaning of America, with a modern, comprehensive history of Florida told in a highly original and stylish way.

Allman is also the author of another well-known book about Florida, Miami: City of the Future, as well as Unmanifest Destiny and Rogue State. More than an award-winning author, Allman’s byline has appeared on over 1,000 articles ranging in publication from Vanity Fair, National Geographic, Rolling Stone and The New Yorker.

He will signing his book 2 p.m. this Saturday, March 1 at Barnes & Noble on Airport Boulevard.
