President Obama promised in his State of the Union address that he would raise the minimum wage on Federal contracts. Callers gave us all their reasons why it wouldn’t work. We are interviewing at 12:05 Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research in Washington, DC. The Economic Policy Institute published a letter on Tuesday signed by 75 economists urging Washington to raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10. Dean was one of the signers.
