In Santa Rosa County, Republican voters have been bombarded with flyers and text messages by County Commissioner James Calkins, who is desperately trying to win another term.
Navarre Press publisher Sandi Kemp expressed her frustrations with the grandstanding commissioner in her “Out and About” column.
“Calkins is not intellectually smart, and he is a poser, a player, a fake, not genuine, not honest, not fair, a suck-up and as slimy as any politician can get,” Kemp wrote.
The publisher points out that Calkins has no biography on the Santa Rosa County website and offers no details on how he earns his money. Voters know very little about him, but the development and real estate communities love him.
