Judge denies rehearing on heritage oak case

Judge Jeffrey L. Burns of the First Judicial Circuit Court has denied a couple’s motion for a rehearing on their case involving a heritage oak tree on their property.

On  Oct. 30, Judge Burns ruled in favor of protecting the heritage live oak tree on North Spring Street that the City of Pensacola has been working to prevent from being cut down. The judge denied the property owners’ motion to dissolve a temporary injunction preventing the removal of the tree, allowing the injunction to remain in place.
