K-2 Archaeology Story Time: ‘Swap!’ & Underwater Archaeology on Aug 3

Join Florida Public Archaeology Network staff in enjoying an archaeology story time, specifically geared for our youngest members of the public! The program will take place Thursday Aug 3 from 9 am to 10 am at the headquarters of the Florida Public Archaeology Network located at 207 East Main Street in downtown Pensacola. Space is limited for this program, so participants must register by emailing mthomin@uwf.edu to save your spot!

The story for this event is “Swap!” by Steve Light. Parents and their children will discover what underwater archaeology is and how archaeologists can learn about the past from shipwrecks. After the story in our lab groups will investigate a shipwreck on a tarp. For the last activity they will build their own ship to take home. All families with children in kindergarten through 2nd grade are encouraged to join us! Children must be accompanied by an adult through the duration of this program.
