Starting kindergarten is a big milestone for both children and parents. ReadyKids! is hosting “Kindergarten, Here We Come!”—a series of free workshops specifically designed for families with children starting kindergarten this August. These one-hour sessions offer practical advice, hands-on activities, and all the necessary tools to help your child feel confident and prepared for their first day of school.
- Why Kindergarten Readiness Matters: Research consistently shows that children who enter kindergarten prepared for learning have better outcomes throughout their educational journey. However, readiness isn’t just about knowing letters and numbers—it’s about emotional maturity, social skills, and having established routines that support learning.
What Makes These Workshops Special?
While parents and caregivers learn valuable strategies for supporting kindergarten readiness over the summer, children get to experience what kindergarten is really like. Your rising kindergartner will have the chance to explore an actual kindergarten classroom and participate in fun, educational activities that build essential early learning skills.
The workshops cover three key areas of kindergarten readiness:
- Academic preparation through age-appropriate learning activities
- Emotional readiness to help your child feel confident about school
- Daily routines that make the transition to structured learning easier
Parents will also receive important information about enrollment procedures and what to expect from their child’s new school.
