Koch brother dictates FSU hiring

Charles G. Koch has pledged $1.5 million for positions in Florida State University’s economics department. With the funds comes strings. Koch and his representatives get to screen and sign off on any hires for a new program promoting “political economy and free enterprise.

Charles Koch is one of the 20 richest people in the world. He and his brother David have backed the Tea Party as well as Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. They are big Obama bashers. The Center for American Progress Action Fund released a report shedding light on the vast Koch network and how it operates.

St. Pete Times reports during the first round of hiring in 2009, Koch rejected nearly 60 percent of the faculty’s suggestions. Read more.
