Press Release: The League of Women Voters General Meeting will be held on Saturday, September 17 at the Lucia Tryon Library, 1200 Langley Ave. Coffee will be served at 9:15 AM and the program will start at 9:45 AM.
Mr. Ben Wilcox, the Florida League’s Governmental Consultant and lobbyist in Tallahassee, will speak on “The League of Women Voters and the Florida Legislature 2011 and Beyond.” He is highly respected for his knowledge of Florida government, the legislative process, and for his role as a citizens’ advocate.
Mr. Wilcox is a 1976 graduate of Florida State University. He has worked for Florida Public Radio as a reporter and has served as news director for WFSU-FM in Tallahassee. He has received numerous awards for his in-depth coverage of twenty-three sessions of the Florida legislature.
