Let’s don’t jinx it, Irene

Tropical Storm Irene is headed toward Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Its heavy rains and winds have closed airports and flooded low-lying areas of the Leeward Islands. Irene is not, as of today, expected to pose a direct threat to the Pensacola area or north central Gulf Coast, according to the National Weather Service.
