In June 1996, Patrick Gonzalez was charged with threatening harm to a public servant, disorderly conduct and battery on a corrections officer. I reviewed the case records on the case and found this letter from Gonzalez (under the name Patrick Poff).
There is a cover letter that appears to be in a woman’s handwriting that is unsigned. In his letter, Poff writes “Over the years, I have earned a reputation of a championship caliber martial artist and self defense instructor. ” He goes on to write, “Believe me, if I had wanted to injure that correction officer that grabbed me I could have. I can show testimony to prove it.”
He ends the letter – “I am not guilty of this offense. All I’m guilty of is going out on a Saturday night and having too much to drink.”
