Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters

This year, for the first time, the City of Milton Fire Department will participate in the National Fallen Firefighters’ program known as Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters by lighting their building with red lights each night during the week of October 1 – 7.

Every October, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation sponsors the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, the official national tribute to those firefighters who died in the line of duty during the previous year. Last year, as part of this tribute, the Foundation created Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters to recognize the 25th anniversary of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. This year, landmarks and fire stations across the United States will be lit in red in respect for Fallen Firefighters and their families.

“We are honored to participate in this nation-wide recognition of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities,” said Milton Fire Chief John E. Reble.

The City of Milton Fire Department is located at 5321 Stewart Street, two blocks south of Milton High School.
