According to our polling, Hill doesn’t have much support statewide for his publicity stunt.
The latest InWeekly/Political Matrix poll of 952 likely Florida voters found overwhelming support for the laws that raised the age limits and imposed a three-day waiting period.

The legislation passed last year banned bump stocks that can allow a semi-automatic rifle to fire like a fully automatic rifle. Nikolas Cruz, the 19-year-old arrest for the Parkland massacre, used an AR-15 semi-automatic style weapon. We asked whether Floridians would like to see AR-15s banned. Most said no, but 7.4 percent had no opinion.

METHODOLOGY:
The persons sampled were likely Florida voters with a voting score of 100% for the general election cycles. The voters were called using an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system during the hours of 12-8 p.m. on Jan. 13. The Margin of Error for this study is +/- 3.5% with a confidence level of 95%
