Local Doctor Authors Chapter In New Medical Textbook

Local oculofacial plastic surgeon James R. Patrinely, M.D., F.A.C.S. of Plastic Eye Surgery Associates authored the chapter on “Eyelid Reconstruction” in a new medical textbook by the MD Anderson Cancer Institute in Houston entitled Cutaneous Malignancy of the Head and Neck: A Multidisciplinary Approach. The book provides a definitive work from a cadre of leaders from different specialties who are leaders in the care of head and neck cancer patients and plastic and reconstructive surgery. The book was recently published by Plural Publishing and will be distributed worldwide.

Patrinely has been recognized for “The Best Doctors in America,” “The Best Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons”, a “Texas Super Doctor”, and “U.S. News and Report’s Top Doctor”. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgeons. Patrinely graduated from Vanderbilt University Medical School before undergoing postgraduate specialty training at Baylor College of Medicine, the University of Utah, and Johns Hopkins University. He holds academic appointments in both ophthalmology and plastic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
