Looking for RESTORE Lobbyist

Escambia County may soon be getting a RESTORE lobbyist. The board of county commissioners will consider this week if it should employ the services of a lobbying firm to lookout for Escambia’s interests where RESTORE Act funds and Deepwater Horizon spill matters are concerned.

Staff is recommending that commissioners authorize the interim county administrator to sign an agreement with SCG Governmental Affairs, LLC (Southern Consulting Group) to  the tune of $4,000 per month for a 16-month period; the deal would include options to extend for a maximum of 36 months.

The Escambia County Commission meets Thursday at 5:30 p.m.; there is an agenda work session at 9 a.m., and a public forum at 4:30 p.m. All meetings will be held in commission chambers at the Magaha Government Building.
