Lt. Governor may enter U.S. Senate race

The News Service of Florida reports:

With Congressman Ron DeSantis announcing Wednesday that he will run for the U.S. Senate in 2016, he could face a Republican primary challenge from Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera. The Miami Herald reported Wednesday that Lopez-Cantera has been calling donors and activists and indicating a strong interest in running for the Senate seat that will be vacated by presidential candidate Marco Rubio. Lopez-Cantera, a former state House member from Miami, was named lieutenant governor in early 2014.
