Yesterday, our mailbox had one mailer from Lynn Hart (no surprise), one from George Scarborough and three from Clay Ford. None from Tom Banjanin or John Mayer.
Hart’s – paid for by Hart’s campaign – touts him as the regular guy, not a career politician. Works for fighting Banjanin. Ford serving as $1 a year GB city councilman is hardly a career – (Hart does bash Ford for once being elected as a Democrat). Scarborough has never held political office – Hart tries to equate political consultant, lobbyist and campaign manager with being a career politician. No mention of John Mayer – but anybody dating Jessica Simpson isn’t a regular guy.
The Ford trifecta hit on Faith & Family (I’m waiting for the “How would Jesus vote” flyer); Tough on taxes and insurance rates and fighting big spenders in Tallahassee (a good message – similar to Scarborough’s earlier mailer); and 4-pt plan for lower insurance rates. All well done – a little wordy – but good messages. Hurt getting all three in one day. Should have added a pizza coupon.
Scarborough had the perfect Republican piece – no big words – except Conservative – great pictures that include Jeb Bush, Barbara Bush and Mickey Mouse. No platform or plan, though.
