Majority of Florida voters support Kavanaugh’s appointment

A recent Inweekly/Political Matrix statewide poll of likely Florida voters found the majority of Florida voters think Judge Brett Kavanaugh should be the next Supreme Court Justice.

Millennials  (ages 22-34) and Gen-X (ages 35-44) were least in favor of seating Judge Kavanaugh on the U.S. Supreme Court.  The 21 and under and the 65 and older voters were the most supportive.

Republicans were overwhelmingly in favor of Judge Kavanaugh – 84.3 percent, while only 20.8 percent of Democrats wanted him on the U.S. Supreme Court. The majority of non-affiliated voters supported the appointment – 51.5 percent.

METHODOLOGY:
The cross tabs for this study were party, age and gender. The 1,037 persons sampled were likely voters of the primary and general election cycles throughout Florida with data comprised from Aristotle as well as the Division of Elections Statewide database. They were called using an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system and during the hours of 12PM to 8PM Sept. 27-30. The Margin of Error for this study was +/- 3.5 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent.
