The Battle of Touch Screen voting continues over creating a paper trail for voters. It’s a fight between those who believe a paper trail is a safety net that offers assurances of outcome and a deterrent to hackers and election officials who see the paper trail is an expensive, retrofitted security blanket that’s not worth the expense.
Pro-paper trailers want to have a referendum in Sarasota County so the voters can decide if they want to pay for a paper trail feature to be added to the new voting machines.
