The dedication of the Vince J. Whibbs Sr. Community Maritime Park is this Saturday, Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Hosted by the Community Maritime Park Associates Inc. and the City of Pensacola, free, family-friendly event has plenty to offer from fun activities like a Velcro wall, bungee run, and rock climbing wall to fireworks.
The day begins at 10 a.m. with a “Touch A Truck†event presented by Families First Network, musical performances and a Mopar Car Show by Hill-Kelly Dodge. Food and drink vendors will be selling treats and refreshments outside the stadium all day. The Velcro wall, bungee run, rock climbing wall open at 11 a.m.
At 1 p.m. inside the stadium, the first annual Pensacola Kraft Bier Festival presented by Cat Country 98.7 will begin, allowing ticket holders to taste a variety of beers. Visit pcbeer.com for more information and ticket prices.
Wil-Lo Week will bring the annual Citywide Bootcamp to the celebration, with a kids’ demonstration at 1:30 p.m. and an adult demonstration at 2 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Roy Jones Jr. and Justin Gatlin.
The official park dedication ceremony is at 4 p.m., followed by a performance by the Charlie Daniels Band and a firework show at 7 p.m. to end the event.
