Marty wanted retail and commercial at park, in 2004

While researching another topic I came across what then-Councilman Marty Donovan said when Adm. Jack Fetterman first presented the maritime museum (the one Marty now says is so vital to the Community Maritime Park):

Council member Marty Donovan, who supported the “anti-Trillium” effort, said retail and residential development along the waterfront would bring in tax revenue for the city, as opposed to a nonprofit facility.

Hmmm, no mention of a public park by Mr. Donovan. I also like his comment that he has an “open mind.”
