The City of Pensacola has announced that Amy Miller has been appointed as new Director of the Port of Pensacola, after Clyde Mathis resigned on Monday (Clyde Mathis Resignation11202013_0000).
Miller is the first female Port Director for the City of Pensacola. She is the only currently-serving female Port Director in the state of Florida and in the U.S. Gulf Coast region. She went to work at the port in 2002 as its Manager of Business & Trade Development. In 2006, her duties were expanded to include oversight of the port’s budgeting, finance and human resources activities.
The Independent News hears that Mathis’ resignation is the first of several department heads that will be departing between now and next spring.
